It's been a few days since I've posted anything, so let me try to remember. (Easier said than done these days.) Sorry if it's long, but that's the point of having a blog! :)
Friday - Gym in the morning. Got both cars smogged at the drive-thru place, which took time because I had to trade vehicles at Mike's work to get the second one in. Kids weren't happy about all the car time either. I then took the truck back to the garage that "fixed" the air conditioner last month. We now need a whole new compresser and some other parts. We didn't do it there, but will have our friend's husband (Rod) fix it when we can budget it in. Their price is $600, but Rod will do it for $400. Made for a grumpy day. That and it was 91 degrees with no a/c. Mike is now going to use the truck to go back and forth to work (5 miles), and I'll have the car instead. I love that Corolla!
Saturday - Mike ran 10 miles on Saturday morning. Holy Toledo! I'm glad I'm not him, heh heh. I spent the morning cleaning house and hanging out with the kids. I wanted to hit some garage sales, but it was going to be hot and we only had the truck. I didn't feel like dragging both kids with me in the heat, uphill both ways, barefoot, in the snow...well...you get the idea. All 4 of us napped in the afternoon. Dropped the truck off at Angie and Rod's house in the evening, then hit up our local Starbucks. Mike went to his friend Dave's house for UFC night (Ultimate Fighting Championship). It was a bunch of guys from our church with pizza. I e-bayed a few random items while he was gone.
Sunday - Church in the morning. Our associate pastor did a really good sermon on the Da Vinci Code. I missed half of it because I was counting the tithe money, but the last half was great. Naps again in the afternoon. We picked up our car in the evening. The radiator and water pump are now fixed. Yippeee! Rod even fixed our left taillight (it had a short for over a year and a half). Thanks Rod!
Monday - Memorial Day. Mike worked (he volunteered based on the Holiday Pay). The Comcast dude came out and fixed our On Demand problems. Something about a damaged wire outside in our cable wire thingy. He replaced it and things are better now. We spent the bulk of the day at our friends Herb and Jean's house. They had a barbeque/swim party. It was a lot of fun, and Mike joined us because he got off of work early. That was a nice surprise. Andrew and Mike played in the pool most of the time. Natalie did great. She was serenaded by our friend Mike Rhodes. He played his guitar and sang her a really sweet lullaby. I'd never heard it before, but he used to sing it to his kids. Natalie was in LOVE with him. She was smiling and so happy. She kept staring at him, then his guitar, then back to him again. So it begins.....WAAHHHHH!
