A Small Victory

Since leaving my seriously hormonal post last night, Mike talked to his interim supervisor who said it was no problem to give him Christmas Eve off. I guess having a hissy fit throwing wife put the ball in Mike's court.

I feel much better now, but still feel like I went a little off the deep end. Oh well, it seemed to have worked. I guess it helps to speak up once in awhile.

My friend Jennifer called me today. I tried to pawn off my Dream Team leadership to her last week. I sort of left her a freak out e-mail stating that 'I'm done' and 'do you want to take over'. After talking a bit, I realized that my main frustration of this past year has been the last minute requests given to our team. (Like three weeks to plan "just a little" event.) That and trying to be a cheerleader/motivational speaker and having little feedback or excitement from others...well, it just got old. Having 100 volunteers when we needed a minimum of 160+ for the job. I mean, I know you can feed thousands of people with 3 fish, but still. You get the idea. Those who sprung things on me/us last minute are no longer there, and our new pastor coming in is a very plan-ahead type of guy. With new leadership and direction it will be a lot easier to foster excitement. Jennifer asked me to hang out for another month and wait until David (new pastor) starts his job. She assured me that things will change and get better.
