I have been keeping myself from publishing this for awhile now, being as these were Christmas gifts and all. In my utopian fairytale la-la land, I would have hand-made something fun and useful for all of my immediate family members. I quickly realized, to be done with all of those in time, I should have started that little adventure before I learned to knit (in June).
I made felted slipper/clogs for my mom and my dad. Basically you make them HUGE to begin with, then you shrink them down and make them really fuzzy in the washing machine.
My mom's was a pain. Ha ha! (Sorry mom, but it was my first attempt at this).

The second clog sucked. I was almost finished with it when I realized I screwed up royally. I don't think my mom's feet look quite like that. No problem, right? Just rip it all out and start over. (The most painful thing a knitter can do by the way). But when you re-knit it and REPEAT THE SAME PROBLEM ANOTHER STINKIN' TIME...well, there were some filthy words flying around my house that night. Oh man. And no, there's no picture of the second screw up because I was too busy throwing a hissy fit.
So, after ripping out most of my stitches for the second time in two days, the third time was the charm. After washing it, this is the final result:
It's about time!

As for my dad's, the process was slightly easier, but the final result was a product that was two sizes too small. (I didn't know this until he tried them on...2,400 miles away. GRRRR!) I think he can fix them though by getting them wet and stretching them. Cross fingers please! Oh, and the colors look much better in person (a bit darker than what you see below).
