Never before had I attempted such a task. The idea came to me based on necessity and a touch of boredom. We had a 20 pound watermelon in the fridge from our church's outdoor service on Sunday. We tried to offload it at the 4th of July barbeques, but the hostesses already had plenty of their own. So after lugging the thing home for the third time, we decided to do something with it.
Knowing that my juicer can make a whopping 1 ounce of juice per 50 pounds of fruit, I decided to give it a whirl. We first attempted juicing it with the rind. It's supposed to be healthier that way. The results were not what we were hoping for. We did another batch without the rind, and it was great. I decided to make popsicles with them (via Tupperware popsicle molds). They froze overnight, and we'll see how it goes. Andrew will be our guinea pig.
Mike wants me to make it blatantly clear that it was HIS idea to ditch the rind. There was no "WE" in the making of this idea. -- (These things happen when your hubby reads your blog as you type it.)

haha, mike you're sooo smart there. (did that make him happy?) Did they turn out good??
I read the title "have you ever tried to milk a cat?" LOL and thought what in the heck has she gotten into now! LMAO!!
You are a very brave woman! I have never thought to juice a watermelon. Hope your popsicles turn out yummy!
They turned out pretty good. Sort of patchy though...like clear ice in some parts of it, then a patch of red. When you get to the red parts, it's really yummy!
Those sound really yummy!
I swear I've read a book with that title!! It sounds familiar!
I think it's from the movie Meet the Parents. I can't claim that one as my own. (Wish I could though!)
Yeah, your right! LOL He said he tried to milk his sisters cat! LOL
