Training

I started training at Chili's today. It is a brand new store and will officially open in two weeks, so it is not stocked with any Chili's-type food. It's kind of odd to walk around a restaurant that is so new and empty. It doesn't even smell like a restaurant, what with no food smells and only the smell of new upholstry and decor. The kitchen blows me away. It is so shiny and so very much high tech...the way a real restaurant probably ought to work, unlike the terrible Mr. Steak I used to work at. It's neat seeing all the dishes, food prep bins, glasses, and other supplies sitting all innocently and new-like on their shelves, without a care in the world. Their time will come.

A rough part of today's training was sitting around this empty restaurant, talking about unpreparable food, salivating over non-existant margaritas, and processing pretend orders. Did I mention that it was 1pm and we'd been there since 9am? Hunger was an understatement. Cruel and unusual working conditions, I tell you!
