For starters...I am SO not a bug girl. I can't even google stuff about bugs because of the pictures.
Natalie woke up from her nap yesterday, and her hair was a mess. I went to brush her hair and found this tick in her scalp. It wasn't there earlier that morning when I brushed it. At first I thought it was a scab or a dirt clod or something. When I saw that it had legs, I freaked (but not obvious to her). Heaven forbid I say "there's a bug in your hair". She would have flipped out...even if she's only 2 1/2.
So, now begins the text messaging with the hubby. He was due home in 30 mins, and I had no clue how to remove it, etc. So I google it. Blech! It talks about digging the mouth out, etc. I ask Mike how comfortable he was with doing this, and he said NOT. (Gotta love him).
So, I felt it was worth the copay to have the dr do it. Dr. Pullias asked if we wanted to keep the tick...it was alive after all. I darn near gagged right in his office when he asked that. He decided that flushing it down the toilet was a better option than cleaning mommy vomit off the floor.
