Today is Day 1 of Mega Sports Camp. (It starts this evening). It is going to be in-freaking-sane this year! We had to cut off registration just shy of 500 kids. We currently have 220-ish volunteers. Some of our rally team is repelling off of the ceiling as part of their entrance. We have crazy lighting effects, loud raucous music (complete with the A-Team theme song, which most assuredly NONE of the kids will recognize.) Thank God I had a baby and am not in charge this year! I'm still on the team that plans it though, which brings me to this post.
We have the kids divided up onto teams...30 teams to be exact. Yesterday I was asked to set up the seating areas in the auditorium. Normally that's pretty easy. Two rows per team. Hmmm...two, four, six, eight...uh oh. We're six rows short. Our auditorium seats 589 people. Take the kids plus the 80 teachers we have and that means that my job is no longer easy.
I tried for a few hours to physically do this in the auditorium. I got frustrated. I finally decided that this would be better dealt with at home. So, I sketched the rows, counted the chairs in each row, and took home an extremely crude layout of the auditorium seating. Add in several more hours of grid paper, colored pencils, and scissors, and you have the final results:

Wow girl sounds like tons of fun :) It seemed to go off so great. I loved that you guys had people to show us where to go...I had a lady walk me to each of the kids rooms
Thanks again! My kids are having a ball!
