Festive Friday

Today was a tad on the busy side. (Understatement of the year.)

I kept my neighbor's 3 kids this morning from 7:45 - 12:00. That equals 5 children, age 5 and younger. I also simultaneously hosted a playdate for my mom's group over here. We ended up with 5 moms (seeing a pattern?), and a total of 17 kids. My house is still standing and I kept my sanity. It was really nice to see the other moms again and to see Jenna's girls. They seemed to have fun playing with their friends and it helped the playdate feel normal. (Thanks Chandra for bringing them!) It's been such a long time since I've seen some of them. Since Jenna passed, it's helped me realize how important it is to stay connected to my girlfriends. In some cases, I'm still getting to know a lot of these ladies, and I've known them for three years!

After everyone left, I sneaked in a quick nap while my kids were napping. Natalie woke up screaming in pain about halfway through her nap, so of course I was woken from a comatose state. I think Alie's cutting her canine teeth. I calmed her down after about 30 minutes of her screaming and some ibuprofin. I figured while I was up, I should clean our blinds. (I could see the dust on them, and it was irking me pretty badly.) I intended to clean the blinds in one room, but of course that snowballed into cleaning every blind in our house, and every window. It took almost 2 hours!

Mike was awesome and made dinner. I ate on the run because tonight was knitting night at The Knaughty Knitter. I haven't picked up my knitting in about 3 weeks. Eak! I completely forgot how to do one of my stitches, so I had to re-learn. (This is after I unraveled 1/4 of it because of some mistakes I made). How embarassing...I hate learning new things. The other knitters were asking if I was still working on the same scarf from last month. Ugh! At least they're not hazing me yet.
