It's amazing how technology has changed our lives. In the past few days, I haven't been online much...and now my phone is ringing! Imagine that. Ha ha. I think people start to worry that I'm delivering babies in secrecy. (No Scientology here, I tell ya).
No, really...I feel the love.
Ok, for Monday's update: I awoke at 4:30 am to contractions. The painful ones. None of the cutesy Braxton Hicks anymore. I had false labor with Natalie, so my brain went the full spectrum from "panic because I still have things to do, what if I don't make it to the hospital on time, do I REALLY have to wake my friends up for babysitting services?" to "I'm sure it's false labor because it's interrupting my sleep." In today's case, the latter turned out to be true.
Of course, the first two or three contractions were each spaced about 4 minutes apart. Yikes! Then it went into this crazy spacing, so I was relieved that I truly wasn't going from 0-60mph from the get-go.
Things calmed down after 3 hours or so. I sent Mike to work, but he only stayed for 3 hours or so...he wanted to be home "just in case"...plus he had homework for his class tonight. Because I was feeling better, we finished painting the murals in the kids' room. (I sat on a stool most of the time.) The original four dinos are completely done and look way better than I could have imagined. I'll take pictures when it's daylight. The kids are now moved into their new room for good, and I'll add an intermittent dinosaur or volcano as the mood strikes.
Mike is at class right now and hating every minute of it. He's convinced that I'll go into full-blown labor when he's 45 minutes away. Poor guy.
He's also taking tomorrow off for my 31st birthday. (Guess I won't be done having babies at 30 afterall.) Chances are I'll be spending the day doing a variety of things. Some of my girlfriends want to meet up for a birthday lunch, so I'm ALL about that. Otherwise, I'll probably paint a horizontal stripe in Nathan's room and do some finishing touches while Mike assembles the crib. I also have a few stores to hit for sale items. Andrew will be at Mom's Day Out, and if anyone has made plans for me...I don't know anything about it.
Until next time...
