I feel like it's crunch time now. I think we'll be perfectly ready to recieve our little man...once everything's done that is. I bought wall-paint today for nursery and for the kids' room. Oh how I love to take the kids to Home Depot by myself...especially when they're tired and hyper.
Here are the plans for the kids' rooms. Andrew and Alie will share Andrew's room. His room is huge, and the kids have great chemistry when they're not beating the tar out of one another. I feel like both of them will sleep better if the baby is in a seperate room.
Trying to find a unisex decorating theme for them is hard. Right now, Natalie is completely gaga over anything that Andrew likes. We have yet to see her really be girly, or to have any strong interests. Originally I was going to do a medieval theme (castles/princess/dragon/etc.), but that was getting too complicated for me to plan out. Then Andrew (and then Natalie) discovered The Land Before Time dinosaurs. It was all over then. So...now we're decorating the room with that. Andrew's room is currently a blue that we love, and he requested green for the shared room. Our compromise was to buy a green that we would use to make hills and such with...then the original blue would be our sky. I'll be getting images/coloring pages from online, and then projecting them on the walls. I have some friends that are FAR more talented than I in the painting department, so I'll be getting some help in that regard.
The baby's room is going to be aquarium-ish themed. Here's a link to the bedding. http://www.target.com/Tiddliwinks-Under-Sea-4-pc-Bed/dp/B000PGSNBM/sr=1-8/qid=1206414244/ref=sr_1_8/602-5363732-6059053?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Atiddliwinks%20under%20the%20sea&page=1 . His room will be far less complicated. We'll be painting it a terquoisish color and probably be putting a horizontal stripe around the room. Depending on how the dinosaur thing goes, we may get brave enough to put a few sea animals on this little one's walls.
Alright, as for names, I think we're officially sold on Nathan Thomas. My sister-in-law called me today to say 'hi' and to cast her official vote for 'Thomas'. It's her son's middle name, but she also said that it is a family name through the Motzes as well. Mike's grandma's maiden name is Thomas. (Also my dad's name). So if we go with Thomas, we cover both sides of the family and are golden. Plus, that's one more thing off of my To Do list. Speaking of, here are my To Do list items that pertain only to the new addition (personal To Do list will be ommitted for your well-being):
x Name Child
__ Pack mommy bag for hospital
__ Pack kids' bags for wherever they're going
__ Find sitter for both kids...possibly overnight stay
x Pre-register for hospital stay (all expense paid vacation in my eyes, ha ha!)
__ Go through Andrew's old clothes and see what we have/need/etc. (Partially done)
__ Go through Alie's old clothes and give to someone else. (Make's me sad just thinking about it)
__ Figure out clothing storage for Alie. (Baby gets the baby dresser)
x Buy Paint
__ Paint two rooms, complete with dinosaurs and fish. Ack!
__ Switch closet contents around to put correct kids' items in correct closets (partially done again)
__ Clean out downstairs guest room (in case I have a c-section)
__ IKEA trip to Atlanta? Probably not going to happen.
__ Pick out some meals from Super Suppers. (Some friends bought me a gift certificate for there so we can have a bunch of pre-made meals in the freezer for when baby comes).
As you can see, we still have a long way to go. My personal to do list is out of control too. *sigh* Until next time!
