I could write volumes on this kid. He finds joy in drifting innocently between the categories of Cutest Kid Ever and Don't-Let-Me-Near-Him-if-You-Want-Him-to-Make-it-to-Four. He lives his life searching for my last nerve and jumping up and down on it...repeatedly. Just when I think I'm going to be sent off to the looney bin, he walks up to me (as if on queue) and says "Mommy, I have to tell you something VERY important...I LOVE YOU". Naturally followed by a sweet kiss. What's a mom to do?
My little cherub literally walks around and tells people that his name is "Andrew Angel". It's a nickname I gave him a few months ago and it stuck. He likes being called that. I guess it's better than other things that I could be calling him.
Andrew starts his Mom's Day Out program on Tuesday, August 29th. It's a pre-school type program where he has classmates, classroom activities, lessons, etc. It's two days a week from 9-2:30. We just had orientation last night, and I love his teacher already (Miss Gretchen). I'm really excited for him. I know he'll thrive around other kids, and learning to follow some directions certainly wouldn't hurt the cause. We bought him a Spongebob Squarepants backpack today. I wanted a Cars one, but couldn't find it anywhere. He has a Cars lunchbox though, so I'll be ok. We also showed him his nap pad and how it worked. He's excited. He keeps telling us to take him to school. Now if he'll just go poo in the potty so he doesn't get his butt kicked out of the program... GRRRR.
Andrew is still obsessed with trains. It's really bad. He can make some pretty amazing arrangements with his tracks though. He'll tell you the colors, names, and numbers of each of his Thomas trains without even looking. We can simply ask, "who's 4?", and he'll say "Edward". We'll ask him, "who's blue?" He'll say "Thomas, Edward, and Gordon". He remembers every little detail about anything train related and he is never wrong. It's a little scary if you ask me. Maybe he has a future in the railroad business after all. He also loves the Disney/Pixar Cars movie, not to mention Toy Story. Mom bought him Toy Story while she was here and he wants to see it every single day.
