Life with Nate

~Day 9 in the Mom of Three diaries~

No, having three kids has not put me in the loony bin. I thought I'd post before someone thought otherwise. This past week has flown by. Nathan is racked out at the moment, so I've decided to turn on the computer for the first time in a week. I think that's a personal best...one week with no internet.

Nathan (otherwise known as Nay Nay by Alie) is so mild-mannered. He is a shining example of a Babywise baby. On Becoming Babywise is a book written by Frank Ezzo. My sister-in-law gave me her copy when Andrew was a few weeks old. The first time I read the book, I got mad. In my first-time mom stupor, we had been blessed by a colicky baby...for which Dr. Ezzo blamed colic on the parents and implied that we messed up our child in only three weeks. I set the book down, and eventually found myself with the baby who wouldn't go to sleep on his own, and who still had bottles at midnight at ten months of age. The month before having Natalie, I read it once again...trying to not repeat our previous path.

Alie was a champ. She slept through the night at 6 weeks and was quite happy in her Babywise routine. No, we didn't follow everything to a 'T', but we were shocked at the difference between the two experiences.

Nathan seems to be choosing Alie's path. You can now say that I'm a believer in the Ezzo way. He woke up once last night, and is so mellow in his sleep, eat, play, sleep cycle (with about 4 dirty diapers in between). Definitely brings some Shalom to this home.

Yes, I'm still in the new-again mom fog, but I know from experience that it could be far worse.
