In the Past 9 Days...

In the past 9 days, I have:

-Rediscovered my ankle bones. They really were there, underneath the swelling of my 9 month tour of duty.

-Tested the limits of my chest. I truly feel like I can feed an army of infants right now. I can do without the feel and look of cantaloupes under my shirt though.

-Crammed my wedding ring back on. I probably put it on a tad bit too soon, but it's there in the rightful place. All is well in my world again.

-Showered everyday. Does this need an explanation?

-Ignored my e-mail. Do I still know the passwords? And no, I'm not blowing anyone off. Usually there's some sort of work involved in my inbox, and I don't feel like working right now.

-Enrolled Natalie in Mom's Day Out. I thought enrolling her for next year would be uber-unnecessary and more stress than it was worth. Five short days into the middle-child syndrome, we quickly agreed that she would flourish in the two day a week program. Call me a hypocrite...I can take it.

-Eaten lots of great food...supplied by well-wishing friends.

-Slept a lot. Broken jags of sleep here and there, but enough just the same.

-Taken baby Nathan out. For the first through eleventh time. What can I say, he's the third? No quarantine here.

-Resumed a somewhat normal schedule. People think I'm nuts for showing up to church 5 days postpartum, or for going to an event planning meeting with an 8 day old. Perhaps it's my personal need to keep some sort of a normal routine...a self-assurance that life will one day return to normal? Either way, I'm resting when I should, and participating when and if I feel like it. I'm respecting my limits, albeit not happily.
