For those of you who know Jenna, you may as well skip this post as you already know what's going on. This is an appeal to all my praying friends who don't know her. Please add her to your prayer list!
Jenna is a member of my mom's board. I think she founded the thing. Anyway...on Friday it was confirmed that she has leukemia. Doctors are still trying to determine exactly which type of leukemia it is. Either way, she is being admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for a month and will undergo a continuous chemo treatment. Because her immune system is so sensitive, she will only be able to see her three children (the youngest is 6 months old) once per week. Her husband Mark works two jobs and lost his grandmother a couple of days ago as well. Jenna is still young...either 32 or 33. Clearly this is devastating for her and her family on numerous levels. She remains hopeful and courageous and inspires those of us who know her with her outward optimism.
As a teen, Jenna had Hodgkins Lymphoma and beat that as well. It is frustrating and maddening beyond words that she has to endure this hell again. We know that she will beat this thing as well. I ask that you pray for peace, health, and hope for her and her family during this scary time. I can't remember the last time I prayed so long and so hard for someone. Please join me!
