Where's My Toolbelt???

I want a toolbelt now. Pink preferably. With flecks of ceiling texture still in my hair, I am proud to say that we are DONE with our ceiling fan installation. Every room that needs one now has one. Yeehaaaaa!

Yesterday we bought three ceiling fans at Lowe's. After getting home, Mike had a hot date with his homework. I was bored and decided to install the first one by myself. After all, they come with directions and I can read, right? It can't be rocket science. So I cut the power to our bedroom and went to work. Standing on top of our bed amidst a sea of screws, nuts, fan blades, and instructions, I nervously went to work. Once I discovered that I really wasn't going to be electrocuted, I was fine. I only needed an extra hand when it came to lifting the fan and screwing it into the mount.

Today was a different story. It was gorgeous outside, but Andrew woke up with stomach issues (to put it nicely). We had to box the kids' rooms for the fans. The master bedroom had been pre-boxed, which was nice. With the attic work done, and only one unintended hole in the ceiling, and several adult words later, we were on our way. The fans went up with little trouble, and voila! Cooler rooms. I can't believe they all work. What luck! There is a remote for each one too, which is great. Not bad for $50 a pop. Here's a picture of our labor of love:
