Viva El Paso!

OK, so I've had e-mails and voicemails from people asking me if I died or if I quit blogging. I take that as a hint...

Just after my last post, I flew to El Paso. ALONE! It was wonderful. Ok, well maybe not El Paso per se, but the freedom was so overdue. I got to visit with Erica's family and re-connect with an old friend (Lara). I hadn't seen Lara in at least ten years. We got no sleep...not because of partying, but because of flights, busy schedules, receptions, etc. My how times have changed. I remember the days when I liked not having sleep! It took me three days to recover from this trip. Sheesh.

I forgot my camera. GRRRR. Fortunately I've had a few pictures e-mailed to me so I can share.

I think the biggest taste of freedom was 1) using a public restroom with nobody else in the stall with me, and 2) the beer keg and four glasses of champagne.

The kids and Mike did just fine without me for the 60 hours that I was gone. The kids didn't seem to miss me nearly as much as I thought they would or should. I guess that just means I get to go to more places more often and for longer periods of time. Or not.
