Welcome, Friends!

Welcome, friends!

This may sound lame to most of you. Honestly, I have no idea who reads my blog anymore. I take huge blog breaks, and probably lose half my following in the process. But my good friend Erica has recently reconnected with some friends from high school. She has referred them here, so Katie, Jen, and whoever else...WELCOME! Feel free to leave comments. I'd love to catch up with you guys!

Life in short is this: I am a Motz (sounds like 'Moats'). Mike and I got married in August of 2000, and have had three little cutie pies in the process. Andrew is 5, Natalie (Alie) is 2 1/2, and Nathan (sometimes Nate) is 4 months. Life is nuts with three little ones and my uterus is ready to come up for some air. We consider our little ones blessings, but are sometimes a little overwhelmed that God has chosen to bless us with such consistency.

When Andrew was 14 months old, we moved to Murfreesboro, TN. Yes...Tennessee. (Insert hillbilly jokes and terrible southern accent here.) Go figure. We love it here though. My husband got a job transfer with Verizon Wireless, and it was a good gig for us. It allowed me to quit my eight year stint with Verizon Wireless and stay home predominately--barring the random fits of making money on the side (e-bay, cleaning houses, etc.) I've also spent lots of time volunteering for our church as the Event Coordinator. I stepped out of leadership in January to prepare for Nathan's April birth, and because of Mike's new role as Video Director at our church.

Right now I am serving tables at Chili's two to three nights a week. Yeah, no better way to use that English degree, but right now I'm not willing or able to jump into a career. It works for us. Plus, there's the added perk of being CONSTANTLY reminded of the aging process. Am I old? No way. But try telling that 100+ co-workers who average an age of 23 years and who are typically single. Yeah, I am waaaay out of my league, especially when they start swapping their drunk stories and I counter with a toddler tantrum story. I can't believe I was once one of them. Er, uh...when did I become OLD? And when did those laugh lines sneak in???

Andrew starts kindergarten in a week. I'm preparing my nerves for this one. I thought I would be fine, but am quickly realizing that I'm not so fine with it. I feel like I haven't had enough time with him. He's going to love it though, so chin up...right?

Stay tuned for more updates. Make yourselves comfortable and stay awhile!

Not old in our minds, that's what counts. I agree, I FEEL like I'm still 21. Or was that 25? Oh well, you're only as old as you feel.

Hey Kristen! It's so good to read a bit about what you are up to. I'm staying at home now too, with my two little ones. I've got you bookmarked now. So keep'em coming! (Thanks Erica for playing connect the dots with old friends!)
